The ISOLDE SLEEVE Pattern
Confident Beginner
The Isolde sleeve consists of a fully lined gigot puff that sits at the upper arm, and a shirred panel that runs from the elbow to the wrist, creating a fitted column effect below. The shirred section is captured between the outer and inner lining of the sleeve, keeping it neat and secure without any additional finishing.
The Isolde sleeve can be attached to any fitted bodice with a standard armscye: including the Audrey, Hera, Freya, Cordelia and Odette patterns.

The Isolde sleeve works best in fabrics with a stiffer handle that can hold the structure of the puff: cotton, linen, dupioni and taffeta all work beautifully. Avoid anything too drapey or fluid, as the puff will lose its shape.
For the lining, a lightweight cotton or silk lining works well, or for extra volume and structure, line it in your main fabric.
